JOHN KIRAMIS AUTHOR PHOTO 1_edited.jpg

John Kiramis is a former police lieutenant and detective sergeant who served law enforcement for thirty-two years. Upon his retirement from the Foster City Police Department, John sought and won the office of ’Mayor of Foster City,’ a suburb of Silicon Valley.

John was born in San Francisco and raised in the Glen Park neighborhood. Hailing from the city, there is always adventure and exposure to local history, diversified lifestyles, and a myriad of cultures, which have, over the years, imbued John Kiramis with a unique intellectual perspective to write.

He began working at a very early age, delivering three different San Francisco newspapers and collecting empty soda bottles for redemption, to caddying at The Olympic Club. John was waiting at restaurant tables throughout San Francisco.

Today, John lives in the Mohave Desert in northern Los Angeles County along with his wife Kate, a special education teacher for the LAUSD, and one-eyed black cat named Anthony, whom John rescued from drowning in the pool.

John enjoys cooking, daily exercise to ward off the encroachment of age, and keeping abreast of what goes on in the world as fodder for his writing.
